Baffle Ball Penny arcade
The Pinball predecessor

Penny arcades began to gain a negative reputation, as the most popular attraction in them were mutoscopes with risqué and softcore pornography, while attracting the audience of young men. In addition, the birth of the movie industry in the 1910s and 1920s drew audiences away from the penny arcade. New interactive coin-operated machines were developed to bring customers back to the penny arcades and create the first arcade games.
